Some regard crystals as having healing energy or soothing qualities. New Age often use it to summon frequencies to reach a higher consciousness.
Crystals alone are neutral. But by summoning a frequency, the practitioner expects an energy that may actually be an attraction of a demonic spirit that is activating an expected result. A familiar spirit will inhabit the item and claim it to mislead the practitioner.
And can it be transferred to another? Quite possibly if a person carries over the same intent then yes it could be still inhabited. Best not to except an idol.
