Some interpret being OF the world differently.
Some Christians be like:
- No drink at all
- No dancing
- No music
- Nothing but Bible
- Don’t partake in anything of the world
- No fun, always serious
But the Christian mindset is more like:
- Let your drink be controlled, stay sober
- Dance with joy not being lewd
- Let your music choice be careful not to grieve your spirit
- Nor let it blaspheme God
- Be IN the world not OF it
- Study the Bible with priority
- Discern your fun
Have fun as the Lord allows that doesn’t put you in compromise of your faith, nor let you forsake your believing and be a bad witness.
What you tolerate or can tolerate may be different from another. Not EVERYTHING is sin. All things are lawful, but not EVERYTHING is helpful.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. (1Cor 6:12)
All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify. (1Cor 10:23)
Sometimes you have to discern what you can tolerate that doesn’t compromise your faith. But also don’t project YOUR shortcomings onto others as strict for them. Judge yourself.
