The Great Seal: Origin and its meaning

The Great Seal

A Seal was designed by the founders as an emblem to stand for the symbolic task of the United States. The design of the Great Seal was agreed upon in 1782 that is seen printed on the reverse side of the United States One-Dollar bill since 1935.

After seeing the image in a State Department publication titled, “The History of the Seal of the United States,” then Secretary of Agriculture Henry A. Wallace presented it to President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Wallace suggested that the Seal be put on the dollar bill rather than a coin and took the matter up with the Secretary of the Treasury. He brought it up in a Cabinet meeting and asked James Farley (Postmaster General and a Roman Catholic) if he thought the Catholics would have any objection to the “All Seeing Eye,” which he as a Mason looked on as a Masonic symbol of Deity. Farley said there would be no objection. (This according to excerpts from his letters written in 1951 and in 1955). Both sides of the Seal still remain today on reverse side of the One-Dollar bill.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt gave an Armistice Day Address Before the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on November 11, 1940 that confirms the interpretation of the phrase on the Seal.

“On this day which commemorates the end of fighting between human beings in a world war, it is permissible for me to search back in the history of civilization, in order to visualize important trends. On the Great Seal of the United States, which, for a century and a half, has reposed in the loving care of a long line of Secretaries of the State, appears these words: ‘Novus Ordo Seclorum’ which means: ‘A New Order of the Ages.'” [http://www.fdrlibrary.marist.edu/_resources/images/msf/msf01398]

On the front, called the Obverse side, an eagle is shown with an olive branch in one claw and thirteen arrows in the other. A banner is between its beak with a strange Latin phrase, “E Pluribus Unum.” On back, called the Reverse side, is an unfinished pyramid with an illuminated eye hovering over. Above is the phrase “Annuit Coeptus,” and below it is the phrase, “Novus Ordo Seclorum,” which is translated, “New Order of the Ages,” or more distinctly “New World Order.” The Egyptian imagery on the Seal is quite peculiar for a country that has nothing to do with Egypt, or its mysticism and Mystery Religion. However, it was carried over onto what we recognize as the symbolism after the Continental Congress approved it in 1782. And it is more than just a status symbol or encouragement for the progress of the United States as proclaimed.

This Seal holds many mysteries. And many questions. What does it mean to say a “New Order of the Ages,” or “New World Order” and why such imagery on it coming in the form of esoteric symbolism and Egyptian graphics? We are not Egyptian. Nor do we applaud concealed meaning in symbols.

ORIGIN OF THE DESIGN

In a speech on January 20, 2005, George W Bush referred to the New World Order as an “ancient hope.” He said,

“When our Founders declared a NEW ORDER OF THE AGES, when soldiers died in wave upon wave for a union based on liberty, when citizens marched in peaceful outrage under the banner ‘Freedom Now,’ they were acting on an ancient hope that is meant to be fulfilled. History has an ebb and flow of justice, but history also has a visible direction, set by liberty and the Author of Liberty.” [George W. Bush’s Inaugural Address, January 20, 2005]

It is apparent the founders declared this phrase earlier. And that they acted upon an ancient hope meant to be fulfilled. We wonder what that hope is, as it may solve the whole puzzle of what the New World Order intends. We wonder what the founding fathers meant by the imagery. That mystery is recited in Freemason works, and those of occult circles, from which the designers of the Seal came.

The revolutionaries requested an emblem and national coat of arms to give visible evidence of a sovereign nation as a seal to authenticate important State documents for international treaties and transactions. Before it was adjourned on July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress of the newly independent United States passed a resolution to form a Committee for the task of presenting a design for a seal for the United States of America. The task became more difficult than anticipated and took 6 years with three committees to complete.

The first Committee Congress named comprised of Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson, who each translated intangible principles and ideals into graphic symbols. Not able to settle on any one design, they consulted artist Pierre Eugene du Simitiere to assist. They thought they could use his knowledge of heraldry and experience of drafting such seals, and used some of his design ideas. Choosing a design of his, with slight changes for the obverse side, and one by Franklin for the reverse, they sent the report to Congress in August of 1776. A confirmation did not happen yet and required further action. Certain images contributed to the next phase, such as the “Eye of Providence” in a radiant triangle, the shield, and the Latin motto “E Pluribus Unum,” that was likely contributed by Benjamin Franklin. The Roman numerals “MDCCLXXVI” indicating a specific date also carried over, which continued to the final design.

Lack of approval led to the report referred to a second committee on March 1780, comprised of James Lovell of Massachusetts, John Morin Scott of New York, and William Churchill Houston of New Jersey. They asked Francis Hopkinson, who had his hand in the design of the American Flag, to serve as consultant. It was this committee that decided on the 13 red and white stripes on the shield, the radiant constellation of 13 six-pointed stars (hexagrams), and the olive branch with 13 olives. Though this still didn’t satisfy the request.

Congress appointed a third committee in Spring of 1782 made up of John Rutledge, Arthur Middleton, and Elias Boudinot. Still unable to make a decision, they employed the services of William Barton, a lawyer with artistic skills and well versed in heraldry. The committee reported a complicated design offered by Barton. In his design an eagle displayed on the obverse side, and a pyramid on the reverse. Barton’s idea did lead to the 13-step unfinished pyramid decided in the final draft. However, committees debated over an eagle, a turkey, and even a Phoenix as its image.

Still unsatisfied, on June 13, 1782 Congress handed over the previous reports to Charles Thomson, secretary of Congress, to review the notes and designs of all three committees. Thomson was not an artist, but expressed his ideas in written form, taking the best features of what was offered from the previous designs, and improved them for approval in a final draft. He modified Barton’s eagle design as the central figure and placed the shield on the eagle’s breast. And on the shield he rearranged in the form of chevrons the white and red stripes that the second committee had made diagonal and that Barton had made horizontal. In the eagle’s right talon he placed an olive branch, from the design of the second committee, and in the left talon of the eagle clutches a bundle of 13 arrows. He took the motto E Pluribus Urum from the first committee and placed it on a scroll in the eagle’s beak instead of on the shield.

For the reverse side Thomson accepted Barton’s unfinished pyramid design, however, made alterations of new mottoes. He placed the “All-seeing Eye”, offered from the first committee report, in an illuminated triangle as a hovering capstone. Thomson added the phrase, “Annuit Coeptis over the All-Seeing Eye, and the phrase, “Novus Ordo Seclorum” beneath the pyramid. He placed the numerical letters MDCCLXXVI on the base of the pyramid. Thomson handed his written description and rough sketch of the design over to Barton to finish.

On June 19, 1782, Barton rewrote Thomson’s description of the obverse. He added 13 vertical stripes alternating red and white to Thomson’s chevron shield, and below it a blue chief. He restored the “displayed” posture of the eagle and specified that the arrows should number 13. The final draft displays a cloud cluster surrounding thirteen stars, forming a hexagram over the head of the eagle.

The report was submitted to Congress the next day. By resolution of June 20, 1782, Congress adopted Thomson’s report.

The three Latin mottoes together are said to translate, “Out of many, one” (E Pluribus Urum); “He [God] has favoured our undertakings” (Annuit Coeptis); and “A new order of the ages” (Novus Ordo Seclorum).

It was a composite of many minds.

THE SECRET SYMBOLIC MEANING

The meaning given to the public is an innocent stating of the nationality of the nation and a hope for a better future. This is the exoteric meaning. Many involved in the design stages, and planning of the direction for America have a different inner meaning for the Adept occultists working behind the scenes to bring this plan to the surface.

Many of those involved in the design of the Seal were Freemasons. The pyramid has a special meaning to Masons, as well as the New Age movement. Freemasonry adopts rituals and rites from ancient mystery religions, many of which came from Babylon and Egypt. Many of the rituals date back to Gnostic groups and Mystery Schools.

The images used on the Great Seal provide a double meaning, one an exoteric public explanation that satisfies those seeking a plausible answer, as well as an esoteric hidden meaning that Freemasons would recognize. For that reason, some scoff at the suggestion that it was a deliberate occult intent to hide such imagery meaning. However, when we look at it rationally, what other purpose would the use of Egyptian symbols have to the average citizen, or for a sovereign nation independent of such things for that matter?

The choice of imagery is rather suspicious. We must consider that the designers of the Seal and its imagery were members of Secret Societies. While Freemasonry is the most prominent, it served merely as a cover for more devious ones obscure from the public. The Committee members involved in Secret Societies were not just Free Masons. Benjamin Franklin was also a member of a the Hellfire Club, a Satanic occult group who practices sexual rituals and Satanic sacrifices. The secret intent of a group called “Order of the Quest” that Franklin was involved with was also unknown to the public. Thomas Jefferson, who had great defense for Adam Weishaupt, founder of the Bavarian Illuminati, was a disciple of the Illuminati for the infiltration into America. And John Adams was a Free Mason.

The Eagle

The front side of the Great Seal shows an American bald eagle with various symbols surrounding it. Stars, arrows, olive branches, and a banner with the phrase, “E Pluribus Unum.” While the eagle is believed to represent freedom of America, it also has a double meaning. In Secret Societies the eagle represents initiation. In Egyptian Mysticism, the eagle is the symbol for the Sun, the source of light. The eagle is the only creature able to look into the Sun. Sun worship played an important role in Ancient Mysteries. The eagle also represents wisdom and intelligence, and reason over faith. Upon careful observation, the eagle represented on the Seal has convergence of qualities from the original petitions to feature, including that of a turkey, and even the Phoenix. The Phoenix symbolizes rising up from the ashes in a new birth. The image on the New York Excelsior Copper coin in 1787 shows the design a little different than the image we are used to seeing today. It is more clearly a composite of the eagle, turkey, and the Phoenix with its crest on its head. The eagle was compromised to appease to Christins. To a Mason, the phoenix represents the initiate reborn into the Craft.

In the left talon the eagle clutches an olive branch having thirteen leaves. In the right talon, it clutches thirteen arrows. Thomson said these symbols represent “the power of peace and war.” Some believe the number of thirteen could also reference the top 13 bloodlines of power. However, thirteen is also a significant number in witchcraft.

As for peace and war, why are peace and war both be represented at the same time? Because in occultism, a balance of energy is held in two opposing contrasts. The peace Elitists offer is only that under their ruling. War is the punishment for not complying, and the means in which to get compliance as enforcement if necessary. Those in occult circles see war as a necessary means to an end.

Out of the eagle’s beak is a scroll with the first committee’s motto, “E Pluribus Unum,” which means, “Out of many is one.” Some believe this represents the American States coming together under one united central government. But as we know, Elitists desire a centralized government ruled by the Oligarchy until they can manage a universal Utopian Society in which everyone has the same purpose to live as one under unity.

The Star Cluster

In the crest above the eagle’s head, the stars represent the light rays as “breaking through a cloud.” The stars are in the shape of pentagrams. In witchcraft, the pentagram is a sacred symbol of magic. It represents control over the elements of earth, fire, water, air, and spirit. If you noticed, the group of stars above the eagle are arranged in the shape we recognize as the Star of David, a six-pointed hexagram design. Incidentally, that shape has nothing to do with King David of Israel. It is a symbol said to come from the occult practice of the Kabbalah and mystic arts, the hexagram was used as a Satanic symbol associated with Saturn worship and honor to the fertility goddesses. In the Bible (Amos 5:26) Chiun is the image of Molech, called the star of their god. Incidentally, Chiun is associated with Saturn and the hexagram image as that star.

The hexagram is considered the most powerful symbol in Luciferianism having the energy components of both male and female. It is also the most potent symbol used in witchcraft to conjure demons or cast spells as a source of power. Hence where the term “to put a hex on someone” comes from.

The All-Seeing Eye

On the reverse side of the Seal we have a mysterious illuminated eye hovering over the pyramid. We are told that it represents God who looks upon our endeavors and is the “Eye of Providence.” That God is assumed to mean the God of the Bible. However, that symbol is an old symbol of the one eye looking out to represent an Egyptian deity as the “All-Seeing Eye” of the creator. In Egyptian Mythology, as well as Freemasonry in its sacred rituals, the god Osirus is revered. The eye of Egyptian symbolism is referring to the “Eye of Horus”, who is son of Isis, the resurrected Osiris. Further examination into occult symbolism reveals that the illuminated eye has another meaning that refers to the “Eye of Illumination.” This could also be called the Eye of the Illuminated One. In Freemasonry (higher inner degrees), the “Blazing Star” is the star Sirius, which is considered the bright Morning Star, which is the Illuminated One. The Illuminated one refers to the “Light Bearer,” who in Latin is the name “Lucifer.” This is the mystery cult and the secret Masonic god that only few inner circles would know. A Masonic book called Morals and Dogma,” written by high ranking 33rd degree Mason Albert Pike, emphasizes the case for the claim that Lucifer is Creator, the Great Architect.

Unfinished Pyramid

The pyramid symbol has its roots firmly fixed in the legend of Atlantis. Secret Societies believe that in Atlantis stood a great university where most of the arts and sciences originated. The structure that housed this university was an immense pyramid.

In Egyptian belief the pyramid has special powers. In Masonic belief they adopt that theory. As well as the pyramid standing for a symbol of building.

The pyramid also has double reference to the Tower of Babel that will be built to seat the coming messiah of Masons to rule over the nations, based on Babylon. And it is Nimrod whom Masons respect and revere as the first master builder, the original Stone Mason. Some believe the Tower of Babel better is illustrated as a ziggurat. In the Bible (Genesis 10,11) it was God (Adonai) who confused the language of the builders for rising in unity against Him that He confused their languages before it could be finished, and they spread abroad the earth each to his own nation. And is why it was pictured as unfinished in the image of the Seal.

The thirteen steps or levels has been said to possibly refer to 13 bloodlines of the Illuminati. Though 13 is a magic number in witchcraft and it may have a significance to high-ranking Freemason occultists. According to scripture it was man’s attempt to build a city in his own name in opposition to God. Freemasons desire to run the world with Masonic Order.

The capstone separated from the pyramid indicates that the plan is not yet fulfilled. It is also considered that the capstone could represent the separation of the top Elitist families having illuminated knowledge who share allegiance with Lucifer to govern the whole world as all-seeing. But their endeavor has not yet been completed. This unfinished pyramid may have that same connection. It illustrates the Masonic “Great Architect of the Universe.”

The Number of 13’s

Numeral Magic plays a role in the symbolism as well. The series of the number “13” plays a part in the ritual. You’ll notice this series of the number 13 throughout the image that is much more than mere coincidence or preference. While a claim that 13 represents the number of colonies, we must first ask why thirteen colonies. However, that does not explain why there are 13 steps on the pyramid, 13 stars in the arrangement of the hexagram, 13 clusters of clouds, 13 arrows, etc. Either the founders loved the number 13 for some strange reason, or it is more symbolic. It is one number more than the number of Jesus’ disciples of 12. But also represents the one who betrayed Jesus, Judas Iscariot, as the odd one out making the total number 13. And also is a sacred number for Masons as the date of Friday October 13, 1307, Friday the 13th, when the Knights Templar were banned.

While thirteen can also represent glory, in occultism, thirteen represents the number of transformation and rebirth. In witchcraft thirteen is a sacred number. The number 13 is a witch number and represents something of magic ritual. Witches gather in a group of thirteen called a coven. And in claimed areas in society, one High Priest is appointed to oversee thirteen regions at a time, called a Covendom.

The Phrases On the Seal

Over the pyramid reads, “Annuit Coeptis,” which some interpret as “Providence has Favored Our Undertakings.” However, in more literal intended purposes means, “Approval of the beginning of…”

At the base of the pyramid is Roman numerals for 1776. While some suggest it refers to the date of independence, another declaration should be considered. The plan for the New World Order was under the Order of the Illuminati founded by Adam Weishaupt on May 1, 1776. Communists under that Order still refer to May 1 as a high holiday. It could have double meaning to refer to both the Independence of America, and to the founding year of the Illuminati.

Again, the phrase “Novus Ordo Seclorum” under the Seal in Latin is the most important. It is that which has been translated as, “New Order of the Ages,” and loosely translated, “New World Order.” The phrase may have been adopted from a poem called “Eclogue 4” written by a Roman poet named Virgil in 40 B.C. In line 4 of the poem, the speaker references the Cumaean Sibyl, claiming it as a source for his unfolding prophecy concerning the magnus ordo saeclorum, or “great order of the ages.” It is this that became a motto for the New World Order. And this of which it is referred to approval of the birth of the New World Order.

While some think this means the newly formed United States will experience the beginning of the new American Era, others say this has been an ancient hope. That is what George W. Bush spoke of in his speech. The New World Order reflects the essence of the Freemasonic Order that would bring “Ordo Ab Chao,” meaning order out of chaos. An Order that abolishes monarchies, that recognizes the Freemason God, that allows the affairs of Masons to run it. And to usher in the Masonic “New Atlantis,” which is the ancient hope. But first it has to be acceptable. And that is what the Secret Societies have been doing behind the scenes influencing every sector to make it acceptable. And to orchestrate the Great Plan.

THE CONNECTION TO SECRET SOCIETIES

Despite what it is called, the choice of the phrase “New World Order” is deliberate and incorporates an ideology, one that represents the essence of the agenda, and has purpose behind it. While this Great Seal image is seen in public so boldly as the stated purpose for America, it is curious that this same image is also used by Freemasons displayed on their podiums and such, as well as other occultists. That is because the symbol is more than a mere representation of the founding of America. It is a declaration of the New World Order under the Illuminati plan that is still being carried out through the initiated of the Freemasons towards a One World Government. The same intent as other Secret Societies interconnected for the same purpose towards One World Government. And to return to the conditions as it was in ancient Babylon, Atlantis, and any other ancient city coveted by occultists to bring about the revival of Luciferian Doctrine.

The Elite Secret Societies are responsible for the architecture of the plan, in its drafting, as well as its secrecy. Secret Societies are behind the operation of the New World Order. And its purpose is for the enlightened rather than the masses. A world government under the control of Secret Societies is the intention, whether considered a New Atlantis, New Jerusalem, or New World Order in name. It doesn’t matter which, nor even if the New World order is the current name which will continue. Just as long as the principles of Luciferiansm is influenced.
