Objections to God

The basic objections to God are about the same:
1) lack of evidence
2) science proves God false
3) a cruel God who would send people to hell
4) it is relative only to religion and nonessential to exist

All these points have major flaws, which would take a whole thesis to rebuttal. But those who deny God also have major problems to prove the alternative.

NO substantial scientific proof has determined that Evolution (the assumed alternative) is superior in closing the matter by using scientific measures, saying absolutely that God didn’t create. NO missing link can be found to prove transitional stages. NO fossil record that can even deny the God narrative.

But proof? We have some things to point to for our evidence: like time-tested historical record, argument of design, purpose, logic, moral code, and transformation (personal experience). While some will cite that these are merely abstracts of faith, the scientist or atheist also must use faith to deduct their reasons by what is available to him to know through scientific measures, leaping to conclusions without substantial evidence to make any absolute claim. Many rely on a straw man result by assumption rather than science. The believer doesn’t (necessarily) rely on science to prove his belief. Yet the atheist will claim there’s is only “theory” not “faith.” However, the same application and emphasis applies to their “theory” as they say ours does for the reason of “faith.”

So instead of saying I have a Christian “faith”, may I state it is Christian “theory” in my assertion and be on credible grounds with the atheist in my submission? Or else they can admit their “theory” is merely the same aspects as “faith” and that they also only have faith in their science.

I am assuming the argument is that science is even in opposition to God. It really isn’t. Only the claims based on that science is what is in question of having to prove as any more credible than what we as believers claim. One says the universe created as an accidental happening result of chaotic random chance for no purpose; the other that a Creator God deliberately and masterfully put elements together to form physical properties to sustain life and did so with purposeful meaning.

I can’t say I am a scientist, but with those odds, it is more likely I’d still have to side with a Creator, since all elements work intricately together like a puzzle of deliberate pieces to even be able to function, and that the information in material is so complex, it would take intelligence. An inanimate universe could supposedly take ions of years to come to the same result, but I deny that ability. No matter how much time you give, order and intellect does not come randomly. If you mix up salt and pepper in a container, no matter how many times it shakes, you’ll never again separate it randomly.

So it comes down to source. Do you give credit to a creator, or to nature (the universe). And your worldview will reflect that. If the universe is the source, you really have no purpose, nor morality (naturally) except survival. The fact that you do, means someone put it there. And you likely adopted the Christian principles as a code, along with what was already embedded in your conscience as a start point (by God?). Oh sure, you can claim it is natural, but you cannot logically prove it is, because it goes outside the realm of science. So you are essentially stuck.

The Bible addresses atheism:

[Psa 53:1] The fool has said in his heart, “[There is] no God.” They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity; [There is] none who does good.

It also says the remedy of sin is meaningless to those who deny it:

[1Co 1:18] For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

It really comes down to whether or not you give credit to the Creator God, or to an animate universe; and to whom you worship as a result. If you deny the Creator, you have no real reference in which to live by. Therefore you have not regarded His standards, and would perish as a result of not receiving what He has offered. Jesus Christ was His offer. But if you don’t accept, you are left to the cruel universe that has intended to accidentally bring you and when you die, you die with no purpose. That’s a harsher fate than what they say a believer has.
